Brazillian writer Paulo Coelho tells his thoughts and reflections in this collection of essays and short stories. Some of them are truly inspiring. He travels a lot, and the stories that he heard and recounts in this book are often refreshing. This is a book that makes you stop and think a lot.The best book I've ever read. I loved it.
Dari Bab "The Prayer that I Forgot", demen banget dah gua... Lord, protect our doubts, because Doubt is a way of praying. It is Doubt that makes us grow because it forces us to look fearlessly at the many answers that exist to one question. And in order for this to be possible...Lord, protect our decisions, because making Decision is a way of praying. Give us the courage after our doubts, to be able to choose between one road and another. May our YES always be a YES and our NO always be a NO.

Inspirational, reflective, & meditative. What a treasure of reflections! I thoroughly enjoyed this book & am happy it was selected for discussion for our book club's Read & Hike event. It's perfect for the occasion.
There are only a few authors; or for fairness sake in this situation, books, that can annoy me as much as Like the Flowing River has.I understand that Paulo Coelho sees himself as this mysterious magical being, but it just always comes out as condescending and patronizing; even self-centered and narcissistic at times. I mean this guy really needs to take a break and understand the world can function just as well without his egoistic and narrow-minded view of life.To some, it might seem audacious
I don't know how to explain my love for this book. It was a surprised gift from a new lovely friend, and I brought it with me to a short vacation in a beautiful island. Early in a morning, I had a long swim on the deserted beach, then lied down under the shade of almond trees, reading the book, pondering my life, then swimming again. In front of me, on the other side of the sea, Hongkong city resting quietly, glittering in the morning sun rays shining through grey clouds. What a wonderful moment
