Book 5 already in the world of angels and vampires by Nalini Singh, and we are still not bored:) OK, that might have sounded a bit weak as an endorsement, but it is true. Being a long, long.... looooong time reader of UF, I can say as an almost expert, that the field is over-saturated with anything vampire. This is why it would be a mistake to take this series as "just one of theIn Archangels Storm Raphael sends Jason to investigate the murder of a victim close to Nehas heart, but she will only trust Jason in her territory if he ties himself to Mahiya, who is a blood relation, via a sacred vow. Beautiful. Beautiful. Beautiful. Absolutely beautiful.I was skeptical about the main characters in the beginning, but agh they won my heart soon enough.Mahiya was such a pure soul. She went through pain, fear, and loneliness throughout her whole life. Her own family sought to humiliate and torture her just for being birthed. Yep, I cried for her. October 2016 Re-read: This book has a quieter space of love in my heart than a lot of others. Jason is ... Jason. Because of things in his childhood, he did not develop quite completely socially and emotionally. It would be impossible to expect the same level from him that we get with the others, even Raphael who had gone so imperious and cold before meeting Elena. Jason isn't the same in that sense, but there's a distinct loss in him. It can make it hard to accept the words he speaks at times.
Jason is the black winged Spymaster angel for the Archangel Raphael. Though he is one of Raphael's Seven, which are his chosen leaders, Jason's always in the shadows and prefers it that way. I was always intrigued by his character in the past Guild Hunter novels because he was so dark yet loyal to the death. When Jason gave his vow to serve Raphael, he required a promise of him.
