Wow!!This one a heavy one, five - gut wrenching - stars! We knew the tragedy of Eve's childhood and now she have to face it again head on.Did you see Roarke reactions to everything what happened to Eve?Well after all her miserable childhood life, Eve totally deserved Roarke!!Simply the best in the series so far!Note, this is a very emotional read, the audio version is better with this one, the meeting scene in Dallas when Eve lead it is absolutely awesome!:)Rereading yet again for a group buddy read - this time on Kindle. This one is fully loaded!
A Gentle 4 StarsOverall this was an enjoyable read, and whilst Im very much aware of certain tropes that the author uses in this series, the story and characters remain engaging. In this one Eve has to again face a particularly sadistic and disturbed killer/paedophile from her early days as a cop, he has escaped from prison and is set on getting revenge on the woman who stopped him Detective Eve Dallas. And he is more than willing to use and hurt the innocent to reach his goal. Unexpectedly

#book33 and it was so fucking good!!! I'm moving into the next one. ;)J.D.Robb, you're bloody amazing. Please, please keep writing this series. I don't even care if there are 200 books! I'd still gladly read them all... <3 I just love Eve & Roarke soooooo much! I'll never get tired of this series. :) He loves me. Roarke, I mean. He loves me.Oh, so very much.Nobody did before. Before Mavis, she just wouldnt give up and leave me alone. And Feeney. But hed feel weird saying the whole love
Suspense 4.9 stars / Romance 5 starsOne of the most intense books in this series. A villain trashiest trash a pedophile. Manhunt. Dark. Inhuman. Brilliant Eves mind, her strong spirit, her inner fight.Terrific good written, but slightly anticlimactic and abrupt ending.Romance. Despite I wasnt Roarkes biggest fan at the beginning of this series, this man won me over. Love how they love each other. The strongest fictional couple ever.Eve Dallas incredible Woman!!!
I'm still mulling over my thoughts about this book. I enjoyed it, as I often enjoy these books, but one thought that I can't shake, now that I'm done, is the idea that this series is going to have to draw to a conclusion now. A lot of the large, overarching story threads that have been interwoven are being given answers, and I feel that, as far as the interpersonal/relationship conflicts go, not just with Eve and Roarke, but the secondary characters as well, that these have all been pretty well
This was one of my favorite books of the In Death series. Why? It's the culmination of everything Eve and Roarke have done in their relationship up to this point. With tender moments, agonizing soul searching (well as much as Eve and Roarke can agonize), and a vulnerability that express why and how these two love each other; combined with the crime procedural we've come to expect in an In Death book; J.D. Robb masterfully gives us the exact right blend of both the inner workings of a loving
