Commentary As Books The Immortal Collection (A Saga of the Ancient Family #1)

When Adriana, a brilliant young archaeologist, accepts a position at the Museum of Archaeology in her hometown of Santander, Spain, she never imagines that her new boss has lived through the history she can only study. Iago, the charismatic technical director of the museum, is more than ten thousand years old but appears to be only thirty-five. Iago and his family are longevos—people who never seem to age after reaching adulthood. The ancient family is divided: Iago’s brother and sister seek the source of their longevity in hopes of creating more like themselves, while Iago and his father fear the repercussions of the true Fountain of Youth. A dangerous game of power and knowledge that has played out over eons becomes even more complicated when Adriana attracts both brothers’ attention—and learns their secret. Filled with science, history, and passion, The Immortal Collection transports the reader through time and space, from the days of cavemen, through the Roaring Twenties, to the charming plazas of contemporary Spain. Ancient history meets cutting-edge research in this modern love story and sweeping historical saga.

Judgment Containing Books The Immortal Collection (A Saga of the Ancient Family #1)
This story may have suffered in the translation a bit...it had an interesting premise and the first chapter really grabbed me, but I like my protagonist to be a little more normal instead of perfect and brilliant and gorgeous and witty etc etc. The book got long and technical, unfortunately. While I enjoy history, the level of details surrounding neanderthal man was just plain boring for me and the insistence of the torrid love affair seems just too dramatic.

Great bookThis book was very intriguing. Even with a few translation errors, I was hooked and enjoyed the story. Definitely with it!

I enjoyed this, the 1st book of the Collection. It's well researched & has an interesting setting, which shows that the 3 years it took to write was well spent. Set in Spain in 2012 with chapters being written from the point of view of 2 of the main characters, it's pacy and strongly written. It was recommended to me by Amazon and at first I felt the book was an American 'sexed up' version of a Mary Stewart novel, her stock novel with a plucky young woman slightly out of her depth with a

Amazingly creative...Amazingly creative...Powerhouse of a first book!!! Eva deserves all kinds of praise for bringing us such exceptional literary intellect. Definitely a genius of a book. No doubt there is now a huge list of fans who just can't wait for it's follow-up...including me :)

Captivating characters and storyThese characters really stuck with me from the first pages of the book. I didnt speed read this book initially because I wanted to savor it. A very satisfying read.

I decided to read the book in English, instead of the Spanish version since English has been my primary language for the last 26-years. I don't now if there are others like me that have to make a decision of what language they should read a book. My Spanish is from Puert Rico, and although I have no problems with the language, I felt that I could benefit more from the English version. The book was well written and documented. It kept my attention to the point that I could not put the book down.

LongevosI was mesmerized by this book. I found the history and science of this book fascinating. I felt the struggle in their complicated family issues. I genuinely hope there is a sequel. I'd recommend this book to all my friends. Thank you so much.
