Assessment Appertaining To Books A Dark Champion (Brotherhood of the Sword/MacAllister #5)

I've read and enjoyed all the books in the MacAllister series, so it was only natural that I'd follow Ms. MacGregor into the Brotherhood of the Sword series. While it's not necessary to read the previous series to enjoy this one, I'm glad I did because Ms. MacGregor has the annoying habit of dropping the names of previous characters into her stories expecting the reader to fully understand the importance of those names. Having read her before, I'm kind of used to that writing style, but it

The love between Stryder and Rowena is wonderful to watch grow and I was more than thrilled to see the changes they both undergo as they get to know each other. There is intrigue, action, wit and humor alongside the passionate story of Stryder and Rowenas relationship. It was nothing special. Just ok. The heroine runs around talking about how she hates him. The hero has some mistakes from his past that come back to haunt him. I didn't really feel any romance in this one. I had to force myself to finish it because some of the secondary characters were very interesting. I'm going to read the later books in the series and see if I like them better.

The only disappointing thing about this book was finishing it and realizing I've already read the next one. Further investigation via the author's website proved I'm only missing one of this and the related series. So after that I might have to email the author to release more books!This is part of the Brotherhood of the Sword series, which has related books in the MacAllister series.
