I am a new Kate James fan. I love dogs and was inspired to read her book because the dog is also a character in her story. Lead character Calen Palmer is a rough and rugged K-9 police officer who has a heart of gold under a steely exterior. The beginning of When the Right One Comes Along sucked me right in as Officer Calen or "Cal" Palmer responds to an earthquake as a rescue and recovery K-9 team with his dog, Scout. It's a dangerous place to be, but he has a job to try to rescue as many as he can and hopefully prevent any further deaths from the catastrophe. In doing so, he takes a chance and ends up meeting Dr. Jessica Hansen in the process. Thus starts a story about two characters who are attracted to each other even though

Plotlines conveniently ignored!

Heartwarming romance between K-9 search and rescue officer, Cal Palmer, and trauma surgeon, Jessica Hansen. The two meet after Cal is injured during a search and rescue mission in the aftermath of an earthquake. Jessica is the doctor who treats Cal. There is also a sweet young girl who is orphaned from the earthquake who Cal and Jessica try to help. Cal is also trying to reconnect with his estranged young daughter, and Jessica is finding it hard to move on since she blames herself for the death

When the Right One Comes Along by Kate James is a touchingly sweet romance involving a trauma surgeon and a K-9 search & rescue officer who meet after a deadly earthquake rocks their area. Add in Scout, a search & rescue dog, and an orphaned child for additional heart-tugging moments. Really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more of Kate James' romances. I won this book from a book tour, and chose to review it voluntarily.

I adore this book very much. This is one of besting reading I had so far.
